Be present. Make love. Make coffee. Avoid small talk. Embrace conversation. Buy a plant, water it. Make your bed. Make someone else’s bed. Have a smart mouth, and quick wit. Run. Make art. Create. Swim in the ocean. Go out in the rain. Take chances. Ask questions. Make mistakes. Learn. Know your worth. Love fiercely. Forgive quickly. Let go of what doesn’t make you happy. Grow.
1. If taking care of yourself means letting someone down, then let someone down. 2. Never let rejection lead to self-rejection. 3. What happened yesterday may not be your responsibility, but how you behave today is upto you. 4. Obsessing over the things that society said you’re supposed to do will kill your happiness. Everyone is different and your path to happiness will be different too. 5. My low maintenance relationships are my strongest. 6. If you want to enjoy your life, don’t subscribe to other people’s definition of ‘fun‘. Your fun belongs to you, make sure you define it. 7. Stop expecting honesty from people who lie to themselves. People who are inconsistent aren’t going anywhere in their life, stop planning a journey with them. 8. If you learn to read books, you can be smart. If you learn to read yourself, you can be anything.
This is your life. You have everything you need inside you to live the life you have always dreamed of. Take all that you have learned and experienced and create your own reality. The beautiful part about life is that if you don’t like where you are, there’s always a new moment and a new day to start again.
Make smart, educated decisions. Encourage yourself to make the choices today for the future you want tomorrow. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. (Not my words.)
When I give, it does not come with strings. I’m not keeping track of what you owe me. When I give, I choose to do so without ulterior motives. I give because I’m genuine. I give because I know what it’s like to be without. To long for and be ignored. To speak and not be heard. To care for and have nothing returned. When I give it’s because I get it. It’s because I know the value in what I have in my heart and I refuse to let the world stop me from sharing that. But when things start being taken for granted, When you no longer appreciate my sincerity, I won’t switch, I won’t get angry, and I won’t be spiteful. I’ll just get smart and I’ll change your role in my life. Because when I give, I’m all in. But when I’m done, there’s no looking back.
I stopped sending paragraphs. I stopped telling people how to behave. I stopped entertaining retaliation & inconsistency. I stopped telling people how important is communication. I started walking away from all these crap, blocking, and distancing myself. Life is becoming peaceful. Sometimes being yourself & independent in life is better than being surrounded by halfass people.
(This post is not for those who came & vanished in past. It’s for my future person, in case you experience something is odd in me or missing in me, just say it and keep forgiving me till you experience the best of me.)
Your life is your own. I want you to read that sentence until it sinks all the way down inside your gut and meets every last impulse that tells you to put your intuition on pause, to place yourself second, to squeeze and bend and break into the molds of what everyone else wants you to be.
Your life is your own. I want it to pass through your head so many times it slowly clears out the debris of your fear. I want you to meditate on it until you realize that you are not too strange, you just have the courage to be your true self, you are not too different, you just have the courage to follow your own heart, you are not unworthy, you are just honest about the very natural human experience of feeling unworthiness.
Every person alive wishes to embody these very same forms of freedom. They are not judging you, they are expressing the parts of themselves they’ve judged into silence.
Your life is your own, and it always will be. You must find the courage to claim it, or it will pass by you untouched, a glimmering, lost potential of all that could have been. (Not my words).
