This is life, and it is what it is. Shit is gonna happen. It’s gonna get complicated. We’re gonna relapse. We’re gonna need time-outs. We’re gonna be weak. We’re gonna be strong. We’re gonna lose our shit and yell for people to get the fuck out of our lives. We’re gonna break down and beg some people to stay in our lives.
Some days we’re gonna feel everything all at once. Other days, we’re gonna feel nothing at all. We’re gonna be in some bad spaces, we’re gonna be in some amazing ones. We’re gonna get on our knees crying and hurting and begging for help. We’re gonna get on our knees and pray just to say thank you. We’re gonna have moments when we know exactly what we want, and we’re sure. We’re gonna have moments when we legit have no fucking clue what we want, and we’re confused. This life shit isn’t a movie, and I think sometimes, we forget that.
This is your life. You’re allowed to change your mind. To change your heart. You’re allowed to be a different person. To wake up one day and not want to do the things you’ve been doing all your life. You’re allowed to love who you want. To move on from the people who are not good to you. To let go of anyone without any kind of explanation. Without any kind of regret. You’re allowed to make mistakes. To learn from them. Or not to learn from them and experience everything all over again. You’re allowed to forget your past if you want to. Or to stay in it but you must also understand that this is not how you will grow. You’re allowed to change careers. To dress differently. To chase different dreams. To change locations, even if, at first, you’re terrified to do so. You’re allowed to dislike yourself but also allowed to change those same parts you don’t see eye to eye with. To work on them until you’re completely comfortable with who you are.
This is your life. Make it count. Make your own validation. Your own path. Your own way of life. You are enough. And you are not broken. You’re a lot stronger than you want to believe. Now breathe. (Not my words.)
Stop acting like you aren’t enough. You’re strong and beautiful and the way you dress or who you like doesn’t change how big your heart is. You are important, and your hair looks nice, and so do your eyes, and the way you eat half a tub of ice cream is sexy as hell. You are not nothing, and you can achieve anything, and you are believed in. You are someone worth having around and whoever has you now, or will have you, is the lucky one too.
Why do people tell others what they deserve but never themselves? Stop acting like you aren’t enough, because you are.
(This video got nothing to do with the post above. I found this video informative, so shared it. There are so many such things that we don’t know about world of flying.)
More than anything, the world needs you to show up, strong and courageous, to lead them into something new. They may not know it. They may not see it. They may not understand it. But, deep within you, you see it and you recognize it. You don’t just see this present moment. But you see what could be. And, that’s a gift.
You see the pain, but you also see the healing. You see the problem, but you also see the solution. You see the lack, but you also see the provision. You see the the gap, but you also see the bridge. You know there’s a better tomorrow. So, lean into that. TRUST YOURSELF.
There were times in life when I let myself get completely consumed with jealousy for someone else’s life, their body, their wardrobe, their talent. It’s a common emotion to experience. They call it the green eyed monster for a reason. It’s self-destructive and when it’s in the room, it consumes you. Be strong and don’t focus on what other people have.
Release any jealousy you have for someone else’s life and allow yourself to feel deep gratitude that you are living your own life. Don’t torment yourself with jealousy. It’s a silly illusion that someone’s life is better than yours when the truth is that each one of us is on a different unique beautiful path.
Hard times are unavoidable. They pop up when we least expect it, when we’re just not ready. But it’s important to take comfort in the fact that it can’t and won’t go on forever. As you forge ahead, remind yourself that you’re only getting stronger with each challenge you are presented with.
The nice thing about rain is that it always stops. Eventually. -EEYORE.
(This video got nothing to do with the post above. This side of Asia must be seen. Bali is beautiful. This series of CNBC Make it is so much entertaining & informative. I may do the same thing for a while. Nothing soothes my soul like a sandy ass beach.)
No matter what you’re going through, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. It may seem hard to get to it, but you can do it. Just keep working toward it and you’ll find the positive side of things. I’ve realized that I can always find something to look forward to. Big or small, it helps to get me through those rough patches.
Remember that the bad will pass and soon you’ll make it through to the other side.
When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one that has opened for us. -ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL.
