Just show up, as you are. You don’t have to look or feel great. You don’t have to be prepared for each challenge or know all the hows of every situation. You don’t have to be fearless, or have all the answers, or be 100% ready. Nobody is any of these things. Nobody ever was. It’s not about being perfect, at all.
You just have to show up, as you are, despite all the objections and insecurities of your mind, despite each and every fear that threatens to hold you back, despite the limitations and criticisms others will place on you.
This is your life, your journey, your adventure, and all it’s asking of you is to show up for it, as you are. That’s enough. That’s more than enough. That’s everything. (Not my words.)
As children, we were daring in our imagination; nothing was impossible to us as young dreamers. We dreamt of experiencing wild and outlandish experiences in far-off lands. We dreamt of becoming victorious heroes, genius inventors, and admired artists. We dreamt of sharing a whimsical love story that left us breathless. We dreamt of having a big home filled with family and friends tucked away in the forest or on top of a city sky rise.
There was nothing that our little minds didn’t imagine. Our imagination was fearless.
However, for many, as life played out, when something didn’t work out the way we planned or envisioned, we took those unmet expectations as the sign to stop believing and give up on imagining the wild. We took it as a token that everyone else was right; our imaginations were lofty. Little by little, many of us trained ourselves not to trust that “anything can happen”. We allowed time, experiences, circumstances, and people’s opinions to jade us.
Your wellbeing, Your beliefs, Your attitude, Your thoughts, Your perspective, Your choice, How honest you are, What books you read, How often you exercise, How you treat yourself, The type of food you eat, How kind you are to people. BE AN AUTHENTIC VERSION OF YOURSELF.
(This video got nothing to do with the post above. Every SNL episodes of Chad are hilarious af. I had to share it. Watch it for fun.)
Make choices that make people wonder if you’ve lost your mind. Disappoint people if needed. Fly off the handle. Learn to be alone. Learn to be with others too. Smile when you’re sad, just to confuse those who are trying to bring you down. Live a good life. Be kind when you can and understanding when you can’t. Be irreplaceable, undefeatable, incorrigible. Do all of the small things with grace, laughter and an unshakeable belief in what’s to come. Don’t you worry. Be a fearless authentic version of yourself. Life is fun, let it be.
Don’t allow your life to just be fine. Or just okay. Or even just good.
Make it brilliant, consistent, spectacular, wild, extraordinary. Fill with excitement and adventure, be passionate and fearless, search for freedom and opportunity. You only get one life, so make it count. Make it mean something amazing. Make it yours.
Listen to yourself. If your gut feeling is telling you to distance yourself from certain people and get closer to those who have a positive aura to them, do it. If your heart is telling you to travel, change that job, start this project, spend more time in nature, take a break, read that book, be with that specific person, just go for it. Your higher self knows what’s best for you. So please don’t ignore the messages.
Get up. Get a routine. Get outside when you can. Get moving. Get focused on the day in front of you. (Not the month or year.) Don’t live inside hypothetical catastrophes. Focus on what you can control, even if it is your breathing. Don’t beat yourself up for not baking banana bread.
You have to be fearless about pursuing your dreams. You have to be willing to leave your comfort zone to grow not only as a human being but to push your own boundaries. I encourage anyone chasing dreams to be fearless; go into emotional areas that aren’t always comfortable or comprehensible. Do something out of your comfort zone today. Sometimes the things that scare us help us grow.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. (Not my words.)
I’ve encountered so many people in my life who tell me that can’t do something. Those people are just testing you and you can’t let them bring you down. True friends will lift you up and believe in you. Don’t allow anyone to tell you you can’t live your dream because if you don’t believe in yourself then nobody else will.
Think about one thing you’ve been holding back on doing and start doing it today. Be fearless. There are so many beautiful, talented souls in this world. Don’t let anything stand in the way of your potential.
Be a fearless dreamer. The world is your oyster. Write down the top 5-10 things you want to accomplish in the next month. May it be goals, people or purpose, remain CONSISTENT in pursuing what you want. Never stop striving to be the best you can be!
We all have to start somewhere and we must remember that our journeys aren’t mapped out for us. Dreams and visions will evolve and change as you do.
Every dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. -HARRIET TUBMAN.
You need to ignore what everyone else is doing and achieving. Your life is about breaking your own limits and outgrowing yourself to live YOUR best life. You are not in competition with anyone else; plan to outdo your past, not other people.
Stop apologising. You don’t have to say sorry for how you laugh, how you dress, how you make your hair, how you speak. You don’t have to be sorry for being yourself. Do it fearlessly. It’s time to accept: this is you, and you gotta spend the rest of your life with you. So start loving your sarcasm, your awkwardness, your weird habits, your unique sense of humour, your voice, your talents, your everything. It will make your life so much easier. HAPPY EASTER TO ALL.
